Max D 2000

Post by khaos14 » Wed Jun 18, 2008 5:48 pm

I just bought two max D 2000s yesterday and they work great so far. Have you ever had any problems with 'em? :)

Specifically, no. But most newer guns by Hasbro have what're called "Max-D valves" which have a mechanism that tends to break easily. The Max-D 2000 is a good little gun. Its sole major problem is its low water capacity.

Yup, mine the trigger valve broke, causing it to leak through the nozzle, and if pumped fire constantly, or else fail to fire when the trigger was pulled, etc etc
Though I didn't treat it all that well. It tended to spend a lot of time pressurised (as in several hours).

Aside from potential Max-D valve troubles, I've read that if you do a PRVD modification the pressure chamber/reservoir can break if you overpump it. So I would not suggest that modification. In fact, I wouldn't suggest any modification at all to the blaster aside from reliability and reinforcing modifications like lubrication, the "rubber band repair," etc.

Other than that and what's been already mentioned I can't think of any specific problems with the Max-D 2000.

Yeah, I've already done a CV freeze. I just wanted to know how durable the gun was. :)

Most guns are durable enough as long as you play safe with them. Don't drop them whilst they're pressurized; don't leave them outside in the sun; and especially don't pump until your arm hurts and then some. All of these things could put undue stress on the reservoir, and if that breaks, the gun does. But since most reservoirs are sturdy, you should be fine provided you don't what I said before.

Did you notice any notable improvements in performance after the mod?

Yeah, Power is dramaticly increased. Range, not so much, but there's still improvement. Plus it's an easy mod since the gun has a pressurized ressevoir<----I can never spell that right. (water tank) :D
