You think super soakers suck since Hasbro took over Larami? (I'm reffering to http://forums.sscentral.net/index.php?a ... &f=2&t=169) I was surfing old web pages on http://www.archive.org (otherwise knows as the WayBack Machine), and I pulled up the old Super Soaker sites, and look what I found, under a lot of stuff that can't be loaded, on the oldest archived Super Soaker site!

© 1998, 1999 Larami L*I*m*I*t*e*d, A Subsidiary of Hasbro, Inc.All rights reserved.

HAHAHAHAHAHA :P :P :P :P ! For all we know, since this is the first Super Soaker site on the net, Hasbro MIGHT have owned Larami all along. So, if you want to go blabbing about how Hasbro makes bad soakers, you're saying that AT LEAST all of the following soakers are TERRIBLE......

CPS LINE

2002:CPS2100 | CPS4100 | 2001:CPS1-3-5 | CPS Splashzooka 65 Oz. | Monster | Monster X | 2000:CPS1200 | CPS1700 | CPS2700 | CPS3200 | SC Big Trouble | Monster | Monster XL | 1999:SC500 | SC600 | SC Power Pak | 1998:CPS1000 | CPS1500 | CPS2500 | CPS3000 |

MAX-D LINE

2003: Max-D:Secret Strike | 2002:Max-D2000 | Max-D3000 | Max-D4000 | Max-D5000 | Max-D6000

XP/CLASSIC LINE

| 2001 :X P215 | XP Backfire | XP Triple Play | 2000:SC400:2000 Edition | SC:Triple Charger | XP15:2000 Edition | XP220 | XP240 | XP270 | XP310 | 1999:SC400 | XP90 | 1998 :X P15 | XP20 | XP40 | XP70 | XP75:Classic | XP110 | XP150:Classic | SS50:10th Year Anniversary |
(List from ISoaker.com)
Also don't forget Remakes/Repaints!

So if I were you, I'd stop saying how Hasbro makes bad Super Soakers, and start looking at the good Super Soakers they've made already, and wait for the next set of CPS, Monster, Xp, Classic, Max-D or whatever comes out. It must be something good Hasbro's making, because it's taken a year to get it ready!

By the way, If anyone finds out how long Hasbro's really owned Larami, PLEASE post

P.S I think the word filters messed up, because when I preview it L*I*M*I*T*E*D is Limightd, so I changed the quote to L*I*m*I*t*e*d
in case anyone thinks I'm making this up. (But If you don't beleve me, look in up yourself&#33 ;)

Well, as light bulb boi said, Hasbro has owned Larami since '94. I just think that they haven't really cared about Larami until they decided to start be corporate about it.

I think total Hasbro takeover is the problem. Larami ran themselves back then, and now Hasbro does everything to do with Super Soakers. It's the management.

At least insult them with some class...
If you've been buying super soakers for the last few years, you can't really say that.

Like Doom said, it's the management now, but you can thank Hasbro for supplying the manpower, money, and means to design most of the kickass soakers we've seen. It's only recently that they have lost their touch.

I think the changes are to some individuals in management who have different plans for Super Soaker. There is a huge difference between the 2002 and 2003 lineup. That is perhaps when the managment changed. 2003 has absolutly no new CPS soakers. Not even 1. I suspect that children are now the only agegroup who are targeted. It is also cheaper to produce normal air pressue soakers, so Hasbro might will stick to that concept of no-CPS children soakers. Now, that would not be so bad, if they would not block water gun progress by sueing everyone who advances to CPS technology.

I'm sure Hasbro is just targetting a younger audience for 2003. I think the idea that Hasbro is NOT working on a new CPS line-up is absurd. I'm also sure that if the money tells Hasbro to go back to big CPS guns like the Monster and the 2500, then we will surely see more of those.

It might not be that absurd. The monsters are reissues from 2001. The CPS 4100 is a repaint of the original monster and the CPS 2100 has the same basic structure of the CPS 1000. I first have not noticed it, but after seeing the CPS 1000, I realised that the basic form and structure is the same to the 2100. Even if they will bring a new CPS soaker out next year, it will be just 1 or 2 models, and the rest are Air pressure guns.

Doesn't the majority of the public (even the little kids) want high-powered CPS guns?
It's all about bigger is better... look at the MXL's on Ebay. XPBackfire-esquepy power and range, and they sell for over $80 at times. True, they have their uses, but so many other, cheaper guns are better. So why the incredible desire for this thing (and the CPS 2000)? It seems like Hasbro is targeting the wrong audience...

Yes, I read that even their abilities are almost equal. The CPS 2100 is simply put, a slicker, futuristic looking version of the CPS 1000.
