Welcome! I'm sure the administrators will give you an 'official' welcome, but there's mine for what it's worth.
Regarding your question, no, it is not possible to K mod the Max-D 6000, or indeed any of the Max-D series, since they work on Air pressure as opposed to CPS technology. K modding involves putting balloons over the CPS bladder, and Air pressure soakers such as the Max-D or the XP series just don't have one. (Get Doom or someone else to give you a full explanation of the difference between CPS and Air pressure.) So sorry, try buying a CPS to try the K mod out on. eBay if you can't find anywhere else...

Basically, you can't K mod a Max-D 6000. CPS guns's pressure chamber contains a thick rubber thing that expands when pumped. You make it thicker by K modding, making it more powerful. Air pressure soakers, like the Max-D 6000, do not have this CPS bladder so they can't be K modded. That's the simplest I can put it.
If you've got a air pressure soaker, you could mod it to turn it into a CPS gun, but I don't want to go into the details of that, it would be a bit complicated.
Oh yeah, welcome to SSC!

speaking of the max-d 5000, I saw a very interesting one at the mall of america kb toys. I've seen one before, and this was nothing like it. it looked a lot more sturdy, with a thicker trigger, and a thicker end-of-nozzle too. (the plastic around it, not the nozzle itself). I should have taken a picture, but my digital camera wasn't handy at the time....
