Need YOUR Advice, peeps.

Post by TheTyphoon » Tue Jun 01, 2010 5:18 pm

Here's the situation. As of now I have a CPS 1000, normal stock blaster. It owns everything that anyone else have, e.g. Shield Blasters, Hasbro's crud, etc.

There is a CPS 1500 on sale on eBay.com however. Is it worth me getting it? Considering a) I might not win the auction, b) My CPS 1000 is already dominant and c) Big cost of getting it to the UK.

I honestly don't know what to do.

How much is the 1500 exactly? If you find a good deal, snatch it.

For eBay, I'd generally advise not bidding until the last moment possible. At this last moment, you should make a bid that's substaintially higher than other bids. However, you may also want to make a bid a few minutes beforehand in case something stupid happens; i.e. you get logged out, or anything else that would stop the bid.

The 1500 is an excellent blaster, well better than the 1000. If you can build up a CPS collection (which your friends could also use), then the 1500 would be a great addition. Even if you can't afford to build up the armory with CPS's, you can still balance the guns by giving the 1000 to the other team. In this case, the weaponry overall is balanced between both teams.

Cost is important however. If you're spending much more than average to get this, then it's unlikely to be a good choice.

I would pay up to $50 or maybe a little more for a 1500.

It is currently at $41, with about 6 days to go.

Thing is, if the CPS 1500 isn't massively better than the 1000, then I don't know of its really worth it. Plus, many of the people who don't have good soakers now are planning on getting something themself.

It's a good thing to have an armory, so when you have an organized "water war" (sounds like you normally just have soakfests), you can lend out powerful guns to your team, so that your whole team is sucessful. It's also good to be able to use another BEAST gun if one breaks.

Wait on this, and if the price doesn't go much higher (I'd say over $65 would be a lot) go for it. It's a great cannon!

The 1500's large nozzle delivers twice the output of the 1000. It will absolutely overpower anything on the market today. The gun holds more water too. As for range, I'm not sure which is better.

However, international shipping is likely to be prohibitively expensive. The only time I bought soakers from the USA was back when it was two dollars to the pound.

So you'd probably be better off waiting for one to come up for sale in the UK.

The 1500 is definitely one of the best CPS's ever produced and is a favorite for numerous community members thanks to it's reasonably small size yet large capacity. The pressure chamber holds almost a liter, surpassed only by the enormous Monster XL. It may not be as poweful as some of the larger blasters but it is certainly a good deal more powerful than the 1000 and k-modding is still possible, though less popular and common for the 1500.

Juch also re-iterated my points of armory build-up. While the 1000 is unlikely to break (CPS's are very rugged, though they do occassionaly have problems due to age or to the occassional problematic pull valve), an additional 1500 can help expand the scope of your wars a bit.

The 1500 is my favorite CPS. It has great power - nearly as much as the 2500 - but is way more compact.

Just to note, the Water Warriors Vanquisher actually holds more water in its PC than even the Super Soaker Monster XL! However, the Vanquisher's max stream output is only ~3x. See Water Warriors Vanquisher vs Super Soaker Monster XL comparison

Bad news guys - I just checked and found out it's a US only sale.

;(

And its price is rising quickly - $58 now, with plenty of time to go.

Uh... no. It just can hold more water in its PC than the MXL. Please read posts more carefully.

Of course, I completely forgot about the Vanquisher. BBT's blasters tend to hold much more water than their power uses up; in other words they last a lot longer without having to refill, but of course that also means they are unable to do as much soaking at a time, with the measly 3x max output on the Vanquisher as iSoaker noted. 3x is also the best-ranged nozzle for the Vindicator.

Back on topic however, my point on the 1500's PC capacity is that it surpasses that of many CPS's yet the 1500 remains a medium-small blaster by CPS standards. It may also be somewhat less powerful than the 2500 but it should do a decent job better than the smaller CPS's; the 1000, 1200, and 2100.

My only reference for the 1500 is the 2700 which has a slightly smaller PC but is also more powerful. Nonetheless, I find the 2700's power somewhat disappointing for it's size, and may give it a small k-mod boost eventually, but I'm afraid the pull valve will get damanged as others have warned in the past.

Good news everyone - instead of getting a CPS 1500 (which I couldn't get anyway, it turned out to be US only) I got a CPS 2500!

Can't WAIT for it. I love its sexy red colour. ;)

Nice, that's an even better soaker. How much?
