Latex rubber tubing article

Post by SSCBen » Fri May 23, 2008 4:24 pm

I've started working on a page about latex rubber tubing. Does anyone have any specific questions they would like answered or any specific questions they think would be common? I'm trying to make the page as comprehensive an introduction as possible, so anything will help.

You can see the basics of the outline here: http://www.sscentral.org/homemade/lrt.html

That seems very comprehensive already. One suggestion: You should put how much volume a certain length holds. (for example: if you have 8 inches, the estimated volume should be ____ ) That seems like it would help people like me.

That was already planned. In the important measurements section I was going to give approximations for diameter and then you can use the volume of a cylinder to find the approximate total water volume. Thanks anyway. ;)

If anyone has any other ideas let me know.

I've finished this article for the most part. Please read it over and let me know what you think of it. Some parts are a little rough and I plan on adding more graphics, but I want to know if it's helpful or if anyone else has any questions about LRT that should be added to the guide.

Well, if only all this stuff on LRT was around when I built my CPH so it wouldn't be the crap it is right now... Range and power on it is pretty pathetic (and almost that of BBT guns) with 2 layers. If I want to fix this up, it'll cost quite a bit. (i.e. new 1/2" hose barbs, new LRT, new fittings for 1/2" instead of 3/4") I'll probably just end up building a new one.

I have to apologize about that. People were reluctant to build CPS homemades because what I wrote about LRT was scattered across forums and different posts. Most of what was said in this article I have said before. I'm rather glad that I've compiled all this knowledge now. With one detailed guide and an entire page about LRT I think we're good.

You should add links to CPS guns, so people can see examples of them.

Thanks for the suggestion. SilentGuy added some links at the bottom. I added a bit about examples, what a CPS is, and links to some distributors.
