Help with opening CPS 1200

Post by Maelstrom » Sun Jul 05, 2009 9:21 pm

I am trying to do the rubber band repair on my CPS 1200. I'm having trouble opening it because I can't remove the orange nozzle piece in the very front of the gun. Is there a way to take it off so that I can open up the gun?

Pry it off with a flathead screwdriver. It's that simple.

If you have five dollars and steelboot has five dollars, steelboot has more money than you.

We have an article on how to open water guns that deals with glued pieces – it still needs a few pictures, though. Anyway, steelboot's right, but sometimes you may need to cut the plastic off. It probably depends on the mark of the water gun.

This is, IMO, the most annoying part of opening a blaster. You should be able to pry it off but if it's glued (like on older 1200's, as Silence mentioned), that will be somewhat difficult. If you don't mind a sloppy looking gun, you can get a dremel, knife, or hammer + flathead screwdriver and cut a line into the piece by cutting along where the rest of the case seperates.
