How the Larami Art team was fired in 1993

Post by SSCBen » Fri Aug 04, 2006 3:24 pm

Interesting story I found on USENET: http://groups.google.com/group/alt.desi ... 4ac88d9ff5

Seems this guy was part of the art team for the original Super Soaker series of water guns. Interesting behind the scenes look at some of the problems you'll see at a big company I suppose. The boxes had great art, and I'd love to track this guy down and maybe get some scans of the originals or something. Too bad I likely won't be able to, given that he never posted a real email address and never gave his full name.

That explains the total change from the post-modern pop art of the classics to the Aqua Theme XP packaging art. I always wondered about that.

That's interesting--too bad they couldn't do anything about the problem of who actually did the work. Then again, it's only one opinion...

I don't know much about the coloring of the classis SS soakers, and I know even less about the coloring of the packaging. I'll take ZOCCOZ's word for it, though.

EDIT: I wonder who designed the CPS 2700...

Too true. All we know is that everybody dislikes the design.

But please don't post in old topics, unless there's a major update or big bit of news. Thanks!

I may be alone in this, but I like the CPS 2700's design.

It's odd, but then again, so am I to a certain extent.
