I attempted my first K-Mod today on my newer CPS 2100. I had to hack off the pump cap and everything like that, but other than a few cracks around the nozzle the gun seems to have survived. I put around 43 balloons on the bladder but did not do a check valve freeze. I put the gun back together and whenever I pump the water shoots out of the gun as though it were a piston gun (I.e. Vaporizer). The chamber still pressurizes and I get one long distance shot out of it, but not nearly as good as if water weren't shooting out of the front whenever I pump! Is this a check valve issue? Thanks for your help!

Iif you did not check valve freeze it your gun can't hold the pressure more than likely. I suggest either CVF'ing your gun or taking some balloons off.

It's not the check valve. The mk3 2100 can have complications after being k-modded. The same thing happened to my 2nd 21000, also the newer mk3 version,
with piston pressure action. Unfortunately you can't do anything about it. Nibor tried several times to fix mine, nothing worked. That's why I try to discourage people from buying the newer 2100 model, because it breaks after the k-mod.

Thanks guys, I figured out that the spring behind the trigger was not in place properly. I adjusted it and now water no longer shoots out the front (it was just an issue of the trigger not rebounding properly and leaving the valve open).

Another issue...the gun gets one less than half a second bolt out the front when I fire. It goes pretty far but after one or two pumps I get that screeching sound (is that the check valve functioning?), if I freeze it, will I be able to pump more without feeling like I'm exploding the gun? Or will it be just as difficult with less screeching? Thanks again!

Yes, that is the check valve. Its so easy to do, I would recommend it so you can get more pumps in. Right now the power seems usless do to shot time. I think blaze's 2100K has 2 seconds shot time with around 50 feet of range.

Interesting, you were able to fix it? Maybe the problem is harder to fix if the mod is more powerful [I had a 69 balloon mod.] Anyway, go for the CV freeze-you will be able to get in a good 10 pumps at least without fear of something giving.

Alright then, I'll freeze the check valve. I looked at the instructions on the site...I pretty much just take out that little piece and go epoxy crazy in the tubes on either side right? How long should I wait for that stuff to dry?

Also, my trigger is better than before, but when I screw the gun down I generally lose the nice trigger action I had when it was open. Does the spring fit down inside that little square jumping board? I don't know if anyone knows what I'm talking about, but it's a little annoying pulling my trigger out a little bit after every shot! heh

Depends on what type of epoxy. If its just regular, plain epoxy, give it a few days.
I know what you mean by the spring popping out of that little pocket every time you screw the casing back in place. ;) Close the casing more carefully and slowly, and hopefully it will stay in place.

My 2100 spring has GIVED. It's rusted, XPBackfire-esque and irreplacable. Can't find this small a spring anywhere. I've done this to it. Hopefully you're not that lazy and you can pull the trigger back as it rebounds back. This way, it will be okay. My trigger relies on this and I'm getting upset, but oh well. It's pretty old now (about 1) and hasn't been used. It's rusted a lot inside and it's leaky. I guess I just got a bad model. Oh well.

Yes and with the CVF article on my site, it's even easier. It's endorsed by Storm. Whoops, according to Doom I'm spamming because he hates my site. So I just won't tell anyone the url. Get it from me someway else.

Aha! now I know what's happened to my XP310...
I know it's not a K-Mod problem, but it's on the same principle.
I've XPSed my 310, and now when the pressure drops after firing I hear a loud screeching noise from inside the soaker. Is this the check valve playing up, and if I freeze it will this stop?

Yes, (once again) that screechy noize it the check valve.
On the topic of CVFing, you do not need the screw. It just makes it easier to epoxy.
