What kind of portable device do you use for music?

Just a fun poll I thought would be interesting, considering that I just made an atrac 3plus CD with a Sony music program. I have about 334 songs crammed onto one normal CD-R disc, that's about 22 of my normal CDs. I just hit the shuffle button and I won't have to worry about changing CDs ever again! I also own a MiniDisc player, but you have to change the discs more frequently. One minidisc can hold about 6 normal CDs on it. The player is slightly smaller than a portable cassette player.

I don't use portable devices for music, I only ever listen to it off my PC. I have about 18 days worth of music on it! (Although only a small part of that is actually my music that I regularly listen to.) If I did ever get anything, then I would probably get an iPod.

Let me echo those same sentiments, although I don't exactly know how much music I have on my computer. ^_^Originally posted by Forceuser@Apr 13 2005, 07:13 AM

I have an mp3 player. Only has 128mb on it though. But I like mine because I don't have to be XPBackfire-esque scared of losing it (I would be with an I-pod). Also I got this software package with it so you plug in the mp3 player every morning and select your mood. Then on your computer you can choose between hundreds of different collections of music you put together to suit your mood.
But what made so many people by I-pods when you can get similar players with like double the memory for less money (although I-pods look so cool!

I use my iRiver IFP 1090 MP3 player. It has a colour screen, camera, FM Radio and quite a few other things on it. It is 256mb but that's what I suppose you get since there is loads of other things on it. The memory is quite nice for me as I have quite a nice balance of songs that I usually listen to on it.

I have a 40 GB Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra (of this, ~ 10 to 15 GB are used). Apparently Nomad doesn't make a 40 GB version of this MP3 player, so I am unsure whether or not I have a real Nomad.
I am still copying all the good music available to me, but right now some 1500 songs are on MP3 player. I am sure I won't be setting any records for largest music collection, but with all of the LPs, tapes, and CDs available to me, I essentially have an endless supply of music. I also have began recording songs from the radio with some success.
Edit: What a strange coincidence... my Nomad was stolen today but I have a good idea of who stole it. I actually am getting the police on this kid because this is worth a lot (and he has stolen from me before). With luck I'll get it back.

I have an iPod, but only have about 500 songs on it. It can be actually challenging to fill one. I also have an old CD player, but I only use it if the iPod runs out of battery and I'm away from a power source.
