Re: O-ring replacement
Yes, if you get the dimensions just right, or perhaps even trim the outer rim to fit? Ben actually used "piston cup seals" (from the first page you linked to) in Supercannon II's firing chamber. However, the fit was tight and it's probably not worth dealing with unless you need a really reliable, high-pressure system.
The latter link, not so much. The line of text at the top of the page says they're meant for scrubbing stuff off of surfaces? Something like that. They're probably not meant to seal against pressure, especially when sliding.

Re: O-ring replacement
while researching parts for a laminator, i found this . if i plugged up the hole on the expanding parts end, would this be a viable option for a pump?

I believe such devices have been suggested in the past, not sure if they've been tried. The obvious concern is it's designed to accomodate slow movement.
I work on Windows. My toolbox is Linux.

Creative thinking, but I agree with cantab, it's hard to tell how much friction there will be, so I hope you find it in the store. Also check to see if the outer pipe must be what comes with the piece, or if you can use a much longer, pump-size piece of pipe. The default outer pipe is probably too short.

Re: O-ring replacement
alright. none of the above worked out, but i did find four other options. 3 of which are rubber cylinders, and one of which is several rubber washers.
