SS Bow and Arrow Review

Post by VAJMH » Wed Mar 17, 2010 10:16 pm

Didnt know where else to put this, but I waned to give a quick review of the bow and arrow, because it introduces some very very interesting stuff. As best I can tell, it seems to be a combination of ALL 3 kinds of soakers, that is to say CPS, Air Pressure and piston. Let me explain.

It's held from the lower side of the "bow" and you pump the little orange dealy beneath the reservoir to pressurize the tank. But there's no trigger. Theres a piston pump on the back of the gun. But if it used only the piston system the water from the reservoir would just flow into the piston chamber since its pressurized. Instead there is resistance on the piston from some kind of stretchy material such as a large rubber band or something, kind of like a reverse CPS chamber. You pull back the plunger to fill it and then push it forward to fire. It does actually take a bit of strength to do.

Shot time sucks, and distance is about the same as my SS 30 and probably a little less than my 50. All in all its a lot of hassle for little pay off, but it is an interesting gimmick and certainly a rare super soaker. I'll have pics soon and maybe take some actual measurements of shot distance and output.

That is definately a rare find, and you should try to get some pictures of it. Maybe this could go on Isoaker too.
