Pressure Testing A 2L

Post by soakernerd » Wed Nov 17, 2010 5:49 pm

I am using a 2L soda bottle as a PC for my homemade. I wish to find the burst pressure of a bottle before I use it. I was thinking of filling the bottle with water and pressurizing it with air. This would minimize the air in the bottle, and keep it from flying very far when it bursts.

What do you think of this?

I already used 5 Soda bottles as PC for my APH, it is not too long ago. I did not test them because I heard they should hold more than 200 PSI till they explode...far too much you will archieve with your homemade, may you can but this stream would probably kill someone... :D

It should be able to go to 100 psi without much danger. I've gone that high with a PRH I made.
