About an hour ago I witnessed a car crash on Ackerman Ave, a street that intersects mine right near my house. The woman was speeding down the street at least 15 MPH over the limit and suddenly veered sharply into a telephone pole; there was a loud thud, the car bounced back several feet; and the pole shook, but luckily held. The entire right side of the hood was crushed, the door broken, and motor oil started leaking on the street. The driver and her passenger both lived, but the driver might have suffered a head injury, as she couldn't remember which way she had been coming from. They called in an ambulance, 2 firetrucks, 5 cop cars, and 3 unmarked black cars with sirens. They have cleared the car now, but there's still some debris on one of the yards and sand over where the oil was in the street. A lesson to all: Pay attention when you are driving, and don't speed!
