Does anyone have some tips for drilling straight holes in PVC nozzle caps? When I drill holes, the stream is always going off to the side, wrecking the lamination and the range. Can anyone help me?

Just be more careful and precise. Make sure the drill is going in at a 90 degree angle and that the hole is dead-center. Hold the cap more steadily, or place it in a vice, if you have one. You could also try "tapping" the drill into the desired spot, creating a small indentation that will be easier to aim the drill bit into. Then make the hole. My 2 cents. B)

I used a drill press. And clamped it down.

Yep. A drill press with the right sort of clamp for it will work perfectly. I have a clamp especially for the drill press and I never mess up.

If you are having trouble with larger nozzle sizes, first drill a small hole with a smaller drill bit. This technique, similar to the one Duxburian mentioned, will help you drill through.

I do that method of drilling larger and larger, and I don't even have to put it in any clamp, I just hold on to it. And the holes are fine.
